Bold Reuse Launches Reusable Cup Program in Michigan with SOLO® Reusables Line
Iconic American Brand Partners with the Nation's Leading Reuse Operator

May 28, 2026
MASON, MI / PORTLAND, OR — America’s beloved SOLO® brand and Bold Reuse, the premier reusable service operator in U.S. sports and entertainment, are partnering to launch a reusables program in Michigan using SOLO’s reusable cup line.
The partnership makes reusable drinkware another sustainable option for Michigan stadiums and arenas, festivals and fairs, restaurants and concessionaires and corporate campuses. The program offers reusables cups, a simple recovery system, and no added burden on venues or guests.
"Reusables have become the expectation at the best venues and events,” said Jocelyn Quarrell, CEO and Co-Founder of Bold Reuse. “What we're building in Michigan goes further than any single event. We're creating the infrastructure for an entire region to make the shift, and SOLO is the ideal partner to help make that happen."
Kimberly Healy, Senior Vice President SOLO Brand, said, "We're excited to partner with Bold Reuse to offer a comprehensive system that helps venues and companies meet their sustainability goals. SOLO designs iconic, trusted products that fit how people gather, celebrate and enjoy their food and drinks. Reusable cups in conjunction with a recovery system adds to our portfolio of solutions to meet the needs of every customer."
How It Works
For this initiative, SOLO® provides branded reusable cups and return bins. Bold Reuse manages the complete back-end system: distribution, collection, washing, and replenishment. Venues pay a fee for the management of the program.
Launching This Summer Across Michigan
The reusable cup program kicks off this summer at two high-profile anchor events, with a growing slate of Michigan venues and events planned through the rest of 2026:
● Taste of Ann Arbor (May 31, 2026): Ann Arbor's signature food festival on downtown Main Street
● NASCAR Cup Series (June 4-7, 2026): Michigan International Speedway in Brooklyn
The partnership also extends beyond Michigan to the NASCAR Cup Series at Chicagoland Speedway (July 3-5, 2026) in Joliet, IL, as the program expands its Midwest footprint.
A Better Experience. A Better Standard.
According to Bold Reuse's 2026 Reuse Benchmark Report, 72% of fans want reuse at every venue they visit, and 100% of venues would recommend implementing a reuse program to their peers. Independent research consistently shows reusable cup systems generate a fraction of the carbon footprint of single-use or compostable alternatives. The data is clear: reuse is not a trade-off. It is a better experience, it’s better for the
environment and fans expect it.
Venues Interested in Joining
SOLO® and Bold Reuse are actively welcoming venue and event partners across Southeast Michigan and the broader Midwest. Any venue interested in bringing a fully managed reusable cup program to their guests can get started at boldreuse.com/solo-michigan-launch.

Kansas City, MO — A new wave of reuse is taking hold across the Kansas City metro, and it’s bringing cleaner communities and local jobs along with it. This spring and summer, Bold Reuse is expanding its reusable dishware systems across the region, pushing events toward more circular, low-waste operations. The growth is supported in part by a grant from the Mid-America Regional Council (MARC) Solid Waste Management District, enabling Bold Reuse to scale operations and meet rising demand for sustainable event solutions.
“The MARC Solid Waste Management District is excited to support Bold Reuse’s expansion at events across the region, advancing long-term waste reduction goals while strengthening the local economy,” said Nadja Karpilow, Senior Environmental Planner, MARC Solid Waste Management District. “We see a lot of potential in growing reuse systems that deliver environmental benefits while supporting our communities.”
Proven at KC’s Biggest Stages
Bold Reuse has already demonstrated what’s possible at Kansas City’s most iconic venues. At CPKC Stadium, home of the KC Current, and at Arrowhead Stadium, home of the Kansas City Chiefs, Bold Reuse has replaced 379,500+ single-use items with durable, reusable alternatives that are collected, washed, and returned to service. These partnerships have helped two of KC’s most beloved sports franchises take meaningful steps toward zero-waste operations, proving that reuse at scale is not just possible, it’s practical.
Recent and upcoming partnerships include the Running of the Beds with Flourish Furniture Bank, along with major regional experiences such as Jazzoo, the FIFA Watch Parties at Central Bank Sporting Complex and in North Kansas City, and the Ethnic Enrichment Festival.
Amy Cox, Executive Director of Flourish says, “Flourish, Kansas City's only non-profit furniture bank, is where compassion meets sustainability. We reclaim more than 800 tons of furniture and home essentials from the landfill each year but have struggled with larger, community-facing events. With the help of Bold Reuse, we have been able to host several events where sustainability is top of mind for our guests. This partnership has really helped us lean into reuse in a way we were not able to accomplish prior.”
LOCAL JOBS. CLEANER COMMUNITIES.
As Bold Reuse expands its footprint across the region, it's not just diverting waste. It's also creating jobs right here in Kansas City. The organization's local wash hub requires skilled operations staff, logistics coordinators, and on-site event crews, providing steady, meaningful employment tied directly to the region's growing sustainability economy. Every new event partnership means more local hours, more community connections, and less single-use waste heading to area landfills.
"Events bring people together and offer a great opportunity to rethink waste as a community. With MARC SWMD's support, we're able to utilize reuse in more locations and empower organizers and attendees alike to take part in building a more sustainable system together." said Jay Raines, Bold Reuse Operations Supervisor in Kansas City.
Bold Reuse provides turnkey systems that replace single-use cups and foodware with durable, reusable alternatives that are collected, washed, and returned to service. This model reduces landfill waste, lowers event-related emissions, and offers a more circular approach to event operations.
ABOUT THE MARC SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT DISTRICT GRANT
The MARC Solid Waste Management District has supported regional recycling and reuse infrastructure since 1993, funding projects that reduce landfill-bound waste across Cass, Clay, Jackson, Platte, and Ray counties. Bold Reuse's $98,172 award in the 2026 grant cycle — the largest single-category investment MARC SWMD has made in reusable dishware capacity — will fund key infrastructure and logistics improvements, allowing Bold Reuse to serve more events simultaneously. Grant funding originates from Missouri's Solid Waste Management Fund, supported by a per-ton fee on solid waste disposal across the state.
GROWING ACROSS THE METRO
Bold Reuse supports a wide range of community events, nonprofit gatherings, and cultural celebrations throughout the metro, with a dedicated wash hub in Independence, MO. Recent and upcoming partnerships include:
Running of the Beds with Flourish - May 2
Independence Chamber Luncheon - May 20
Kansas City Symphony Celebration at the Station - May 24
Jazzoo - June 5
Kauffman Center Future Stages Festival - June 14
FIFA Watch Party at Central Bank Sporting Complex - June 16
KC Ethnic Enrichment Festival - August 21-23
As Kansas City continues to prioritize sustainability and waste reduction, Bold Reuse's expansion reflects a growing regional shift toward practical, scalable reuse — turning everyday events into opportunities for measurable environmental impact, measurable job creation, and measurably cleaner communities.
